White Water Rafting

I recently went up to the Kern River (north of Bakersfield) to go white water rafting in class 3 rapids for the 3rd year in a row.

To start the journey off we have to put our rafts in the water and being this early in the year the water was really cold which sent chills up my spine. Once in the boat you start downstream in calm waters getting used to your guide giving instructions. Within a few minutes you hit your first rapids and it is amazing, you hit a wave of white water and before you now it you are a few feet off the ground. It is followed by a sudden drop back onto the river and then you plow through another wall of white water which drenches you. As you continue downstream there are opportunities in-between rapids for water fights with other rafts. The other rapids are fun and a great experience that allow you to get wet however I would have to say the most enjoyable was the first drop.

Overall white water rafting has got to be one of the most exhilarating experiences in my life. The feel of adrenalin rushing through your body as you splash through white water waves coming at you and paddling through them is absolutely amazing, better than most roller coasters. I can't wait to do it again!
